FSDTC1 and FSDTC2

グローバルCOEは，院生の国際化プロジェクトを推進している．これに伴い英語によるプレゼンテーションとディベートができるようにするためのトレーニング・コースFriendly Scientific Debate Training Course （FSDTC1）が，月1度のペースで開催され，霊長類研究所からも毎回発表者１名，討論者１名が参加した．

犬山の霊長類研究所から京都で開催されるFSDTC1に院生が毎回参加することは容易ではないため，2008年度よりFocused English Debate Training Course（FSDTC2）を開催した．2008年度は「たくさん話す経験を積む」ために，主にポスター形式を採用し，質問者にもグループに分かれてもらって少人数での討論を目指した．さらに院生の希望によっては口頭発表形式を採用し，外国人研究員を講師として招いての「英語での発表技術」に関する特別セミナー，さらには特に最近の論文を題材にした討論会を開くなど，様々な試みを行った．
