Collaborative Study at National Institute for Amazonian Research (INPA) and Participation to the International Workshop on Tropical Biodiversity Conservation

 We visited National Institute for Amazonian Research (InstitutoNatciaonal de Pesquisas da Amazonia, INPA) and joined the international workshop, JSPS Core-to-Core Program "The 1st International Seminar on Biodiversity and Evolution, on 23 and 24 October. I could get to know research in tropical forest of Brazil, Malaysia and India. Also I gave a poster presentation about relationship between personality and behavior in captive Asian elephants and discussed with a researcher of Asian elephants and students of INPA. At INPA, we could watch manatees and giant otters that were kept there and visited some laboratories. We could see many kinds of animals such as squirrel monkey, sloth and agouti on the grounds of INPA. When we visited Amazon river we could find various kinds of wild animals like tucuxi and Amazon river dolphin. We also visited tropical forest called ZF2 and watched plants and wild animals, and could see the difference between tropical forest in Brazil, Thailand and India.
