Attendance and presentation at International Wild Equid Conference

Report: Ito Hideyuki

Date: 2012/9/18 - 2012/9/25

I attended the International Wild Equid Conference and presented title of "Development of Microsatellite Markers for Endangered Grevy's Zebra (Equus grevyi) by the Next Generation Sequencer" at poster session. In genetics, I exchanged information about the methods of extraction from fecal samples with other presentater. And I got the information about the conservation of grevy's zebra in Kenya from Mr. Lalampaa (Grevy's Zebra Trust), and the possibility of collecting samples derived from wild population in Kenya from Dr. Heisel (Georgia University). I think that the information and knowledge were obtained at this conference will be useful to my research. Moreover, I visited to the Neusiedl Lake National Park in excursion. In the national park, domestic cattle and Przewalski's wild horse are bled. And the national park research for habitat management. I could observe the massive conservation research for endangered species.
