Comparative study for three dimensional development of facial skeleton in primates

Report: YANO Wataru

Date: 2011/8/19 - 2011/10/31

After staying one day in Zurich University for research discussion, I started collaborative work with Dr. Philipp Mitteroecker at Dep. Theoretical Biology in Vienna Univ to explore evolution of orthognathism/prognathism in primates. Staying three weeks in Vienna, I flied to Leipzig, to visit Max Planck Institute for Evolutionary Anthropology where I extended the work with Dr.Philipp Gunz for one month. Then I moved to York UK to visit Prof. Paul O'Higgins at York Univ., who is the leading person in the morphological analysis of primates. There he sincerely refined our works and promised it is worth to be published.
