Study on reproduction of wild Borneo Orangutan

Report: KUZE NOKO

Date: 2012/8/3 - 2012/8/19

I stayed at Danum Valley Conservation Area from 4th August to 16th August and followed orangutans for 8 days. I checked three mothers still kept their baby born in 2010 and 2011. I confirmed sex of baby born at the early of July 2012. One adult female has not been pregnant yet. Therefore I almost accomplished my purpose in this field trip. On 17th August, I visited Sabah Biodiversity Center and Sabah Wildlife Department to apply permission for export of orangutan's urine samples for hormone analysis (I'll export the samples when I visit Sabah next time).
