Study on reproduction of wild Borneo Orangutan

Report: KUZE NOKO

Date: 2012/3/5 - 2012/3/11

I stayed at Danum Valley Conservation Area from 6th March to 10th March and followed orangutans for 4 days. I checked one mother still kept her baby born in 2010. I confirmed one adult female was pregnant. Therefore I almost accomplished my purpose in this field trip. Additionally, I found one adult male fully developed his secondary sex characteristics after six months of absence. I predict increasingly fierce competition among three adult males in our study site.
