Participation and presentation in European Chemoreception Research Organization (ECRO) and promotion of primate taste receptor study
Report:Yasuhiro Go
Date:2010/09/14 - 2010/09/19
Under the aid of AS-HOPE project, I participated in the 20th European Chemoreception Research Organization (ECRO) and made an oral presentation about evolutionary dynamic of bitter taste receptor gene repertoires in primates.
Since many researchers who work various field of chemoreception study (biophysics, biochemistry, physiology, psychology, and evolution) attended the congress, it could be good chance to present our recent activities related to the bitter taste receptor study in primates.
During the congress, I had meaningful discussion about the function and evolution of bitter taste receptor with Prof.
Meyerhof and Dr.
Wooding, both of whom are leading the research on function and evolution of taste receptors.
