1. Job description
Primate Research Institute, Kyoto University (KUPRI) is seeking to appoint a suitable candidate to the position of Program-Specific Assistant Professor for the research project entitled "Elucidating the primate basis of neurobiological mechanisms underlying developmental disorders" by Grant-in-Aid for Specially Promoted Research, MEXT/JSPS. This research project is conducted in the Systems Neuroscience Section at the Department of Neuroscience, and the objective of the project is to clarify the fundamental mechanisms underlying the linkage of a biological triangle that comprises social behavior executed by a group or individuals within the group, neural network activity regulating the social behavior, and cognitive gene expression governing the network activity, through identifications and functional analyses of genes and neural networks involved in generation and disruption of the social mind. A person who has knowledge and experience of neurophysiological and/or neuroanatomical studies in nonhuman primates is preferable. The successful candidate is exempt from any administrative responsibilities.

2. Application procedure
Candidates are requested to submit the following documents in triplicate (copies are acceptable). English or Japanese is acceptable.
  (1) CV with detailed account of academic activity and research grant record.
  (2) List of academic publications and reprints of those most representative of your research.
  (3) List of non-academic/popular publications and reprints of those most representative of your research.
  (4) Summary of research that the candidate has conducted (about 1000 words).
  (5) Summary of research that the candidate intends to carry out at KUPRI (about 1000 words).

3. Selection procedure and feedback to candidates
A committee will be set up at KUPRI to evaluate all candidates, based on the documents submitted. The final decision will be made by all faculty members. Each candidate will be informed of the final decision pertaining to him/herself only.
