1. Job description
Primate Research Institute, Kyoto University (KUPRI) is seeking
to appoint a suitable candidate to the position of Program-Specific
Assistant Professor in the Language and Intelligence Section
(Specially Promoted Research). This section promotes the
grant-in-aid for specially promoted research titled "Cognitive
development in primates". It aims to promote the comparative
study of cognitive developments in humans and nonhuman primates. The
successful candidate is exempt from any administrative jobs and
expected to promote the research.
2. Application procedure
Candidates are requested to submit the following documents in
triplicate (copies are acceptable). English or Japanese is acceptable.
(1) CV with detailed account of academic activity and research
grant record.
(2) List of academic publications (indicate your top 10) and
reprints.
(3) List of non-academic/popular publications and reprints of those
most representative of your research.
(4) Summary of research that the candidate has conducted (about 1000
words).
(5) Summary of research that the candidate intends to carry out at
KUPRI (about 1000 words).

3. Selection procedure and feedback to candidates
A committee will be set up at KUPRI to evaluate all candidates, based
on the documents submitted. The final decision will be made by all
faculty members. Each candidate will be informed of the final decision
pertaining to him/herself only.

the Division of Biological Science in the Graduate School of Science.
