1. Job description
Primate Research Institute, Kyoto University (KUPRI) is seeking to appoint suitable candidates to the position of Program-Specific Associate Professor and Assistant Professor for the project "Primate Origins of Human Evolution: The Advanced Studies of the Human Mind". The project aims to introduce the group cages with computerized equipments to test the cognitive functions of the three hominid species (humans, chimpanzees, and bonobos) in the same test settings. The successful candidates are exempt from any administrative jobs.

2. Application procedure
Candidates are requested to submit the following documents in triplicate (copies are acceptable). English or Japanese is acceptable.

You can apply either the associate professor or the assistant professor, not both. Please designate which one you apply.
(1) CV with detailed account of academic activity and research grant record.
(2) List of academic publications and reprints.
(3) List of non-academic/popular publications and reprints of those most representative of your research.
(4) Summary of research that the candidate has conducted (about 1000 words).
(5) Summary of research that the candidate intends to carry out at KUPRI (about 1000 words).

3. Selection procedure and feedback to candidates
A committee will be set up at KUPRI to evaluate all candidates, based on the documents submitted. The final decision will be made by all faculty members. Each candidate will be informed of the final decision pertaining to him/herself only.
