1. Job description
The Primate Research Institute invites applications for a
research associate (postdoc job) position in CICASP, a new center
established in 2009. Kyoto University is one of the top universities
in Japan. For more information, please view the following website
http://www.kyoto-u.ac.jp/en. The Primate Research Institute is one
of the 14 Research Institutes of Kyoto University, and is an
international center for Primatology. For further information,
please visit: http://www.pri.kyoto-u.ac.jp. The CICASP aims to
promote the international collaboration and the advanced studies in
Primatology. It also targets at Ph.D. and Master's program for
foreign students of the Graduate School of Science. The
applicants must have a Ph.D. degree, a strong research background
and a commitment to teaching excellence, and a good research record
in Primatology in any domain of the discipline. The successful
candidate should be able to help both Japanese and foreign students
to publish articles and to carry out their research, and to
contribute the management of CICASP. The starting date of the
position is April 1st, 2011. Fluency in English and some experience
in Japanese is essential. The nationality of the applicant should be
non-Japanese
2. Application procedure
Candidates are requested to submit the following documents in
triplicate (copies are acceptable). It must be in English

(2) Detailed account of academic activity and research grant record.
(3) List of academic publications and reprints.
(4) List of non-academic/popular publications and reprints of those
most representative of your research.
(5) Summary of research that the candidate has conducted (about 1000
words).
(6) Summary of research that the candidate intends to carry out at
KUPRI (about 1000 words).
(7) Ideas about how the candidate can contribute to the education
and management of CICASP (about 500 words)
(8) Support letter from professional Primatologist

3. Selection procedure and feedback to candidates
A committee will be set up at CICASP-KUPRI to evaluate all
candidates, based on the documents submitted There must be an
interview by CICASP faculty members. The final decision will be made
by the committee. Each candidate will be informed of the final
decision pertaining to him/herself only.
