1. Job description
Primate Research Institute, Kyoto University (KUPRI) is seeking
to appoint a suitable candidate to the position of Assistant
Professor in the Center for Human Evolution Modeling Research. The
Center is carrying out studies of primates as experimental animals
based on a diversity of research disciplines, and is a facility for
rearing, caring, and supplying primates for research. The Center is
also carrying out molecular genetic studies for embryology and
reproduction of non-human primates useful in the Life Sciences. Such
research aims at comprehensive performance for preservation and
genetic modification of bioresources in order to develop new animal
models. This time, the Center is seeking a specialist who performs
reproductive physiology and technology using primates. Prior
experience with non-human primates is not essential. Adequate
knowledge of Japanese is required, as the successful candidate is
required to fully participate in faculty meetings and other
administrative matters conducted in Japanese, and to lecture
graduate students in either English or Japanese. Faculty members are
also expected to promote the research of primates from a broad
perspective, to teach and supervise graduate students, and to
contribute to the administration of the institute.
2. Application procedure

acceptable.
(1) CV with detailed account of academic activity and research
grant record.
(2) List of academic publications (please mark 5 representative
publications) and the reprints of all the publications.
(3) List of non-academic/popular publications and reprints of those
most representative of your research.
(4) Summary of research that the candidate has conducted (about 1000
words).
(5) Summary of research that the candidate intends to carry out at
KUPRI (about 1000 words).

3. Selection procedure and feedback to candidates
A committee will be set up at KUPRI to evaluate all candidates,
based on the documents submitted. The final decision will be made by
all faculty members. Each candidate will be informed of the final
decision pertaining to him/herself only.
