Presentation at the congress of the International Primatological Society, and discussion on genetic research in wild primates

I presented the study on the Y-STR polymorphism in wild chimpanzees at the XXII Congress of the International Primatological Society in Edinburgh. The presentations about the conservation genetics and kinship analyses provided valuable information on the new analyses methods and current status of genetic studies.
After the congress, I visited Dr. Shuichi Matsumura in the Leibniz-Institute of Freshwater Ecology and Inland Fisheries to discuss genetic analysis of Sulaweshi macaque (Macaca maurus). Furthermore, I visited Dr. Arne Ludwig in the Leibniz Institute for Zoo and Wildlife Research, Berlin and Dr. Ettore Randi in the Italy's National Institute for Wild Animals, Bologna. In both institutes, genetic research in various species of animals was discussed, which was valuable for my future studies.
