Comparative morphological study of the forelimb in great apes

I investigated the forelimb skeleton of the great apes (Orangutan, Chimpanzee, and Gorilla) in the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. I observed the muscular insertion of the scapula, humerus, radius, and ulna. After that, I carried out skeletal measurements to quantitatively evaluate the insertion of the forelimb muscles. Diameter of femoral head, femoral length, and tibial length were also measured to calculate limb proportions. Just now I analyze the parameters of the forelimb bones. These data are very important information to understand the muscle architecture of the great apes.
