Paleoenvironments of the Pliocene Primates from mesowear analysis of ungulate cheek teeth

Report:NAKAYA HIDEO

Date:2008/11/17 - 2008/11/26

I collected mesowear data of Hipparion cheek teeth from the Neogene Shamar (Mongolia) and Pavlodar (Kazakhstan) stored in PIN (RAS).
I analyzed mesowear data from more than 300 Hipparion cheek teeth. The following preliminary conclusion is reached. The paleoenvironments of these Hipparion may have been a woodland environment.
