Study on sociality and ecology of wild orangutans in primary forest.

First, I visited Dr. Waidi Sinun who was person in charge of management of Danum Valley Conservation Area (DVCA) and talked our long-term research project. Then I received my new research pass at Economic Planning Unit of Prime Minister's Department in Kuala Lumpur and applied new research visa at Sabah Immigration Office in Kota Kinabalu. I had meetings with my local counterparts at Kota Kinabalu and went to Sandakan to talk with my co-researchers. After that I went to my study site in DVCA and meet my local research assistants. I collected data of following two orangutans at the same time which they got during absence of researchers. Additionally I indicated them how to collect data after this. At last I attended a symposium for two days at an orangutan rehabilitation center in Bukit Merah, Perak, Peninsula Malaysia. I gave a lecture on my previous studies then went back to Japan.
