Bonobos live only in the central part of Congo Basin. Their habitat is isolated by the Congo River from the habitat of chimpanzees and gorillas.
Bonobos mainly live in the rain forest around the equator
There are countless snaking streams and vast swamps in the area.
There live about 2,000 people in Wamba village that is located in the northern section of the Luo Reserve. They believe that bonobo and human descended from brothers in a family that lived in a forest, and therefore they maintain peaceful coexistence with bonobos.
