Report:Masanaru Takai

Date:2008/01/11 - 2008/01/17

During my staying in Beijing I visited three institutes: Institute of Vertebrate Paleontology and Paleoanthropology (IVPP), Chinese Academy of Science; Biodiversity Research Institute, Peking University; Institute of Zoology (IOZ), Chinese Academy of Science. In IVPP I visited the laboratory of Prof. Jin Changzhu to observe the primate fossils collected from the Pliocene to earlier Pleistocene cave deposits of Chongzuo, Guangxi Province, southern China. In Peking University I saw Mr. Qin Dagong, who is the chairperson of the laboratory of Biodiversity Research Institute in Chongzuo. We discussed about the schedule and plans of our joint paleontological project in Chongzuo. In IOZ I visited Prof. Huang Chengming to see the Chinese primate skeletons housed in Zoological Museum of IOZ.
