A comparative evolutionary morphological study of the primate autonomic cardiac nervous system

The autonomic cardiac nervous system (ACNS) is divided into two parts, sympathetic and parasympathetic vagal cardiac nervous systems, and has a long course from the origin to the peripheral distribution. Therefore, I attempted a submacroscopic anatomical research of the entire ACNS, including both sympathetic and parasympathetic nerves, in some apes. I examined the ACNS of two sides of one adult male orangutan in the Anthropological Museum, Zurich University and six sides of three gibbons in the Smithsonian National Museum of Natural History. In addition, I also carried out to discuss about my future research with a curator in Rotterdam Museum of Natural history. These results support to our previous research results and opinions.
