キンシコウのハレム内のメス間の社会関係解明

In order to further understand the social relationships among harem females of the Sichuan snub-nosed monkeys, I conducted the study on female grooming relationships. I have studied the Sichuan snub-nosed monkeys in the Qinling Mountains since 1999. I gave name to each individual in this group, which is the first individual identification in their natural habitat. The study band was comprised of 9 one-male units in this mating season. I investigated the group composition three times a day by the scan sampling, and collected data of grooming relationships within harems by the focal sampling. In addition to the daytime observation, we collected data of nesting behavior in nights. These data will be useful in my doctoral course study and further understanding the social organizations of this species. I am grateful that the HOPE project provided me the chance to continue my field work.

キンシコウいくつかの単雄群（ハレム）が集合したバンドを形成して遊動している。そのハレム内のメス間の社会関係を理解することを目的として、毛繕い行動に関する調査を行った。調査期間は、９月１３日から１０月２０日までである。
調査を行ったバンドは、今年の交尾期には９つのハレムからなっていた。一日３回集団の構成をしるためにスキャン・サンプリングを行い、また毛繕い行動をフォーカル・アニマル・サンプリング法を用いて記録した。さらに、日中の活動だけではなく、夜の泊まり場での行動も調べた。これらのデータは、キンシコウの社会を知る上では有用なものである。
１０月２１日から２９日までの期間は、西北大学において李保国教授とデータのまとめ、および今後の調査計画についての打ち合わせを行った。
